🌟 Los Angeles, you showed up! What an amazing day of learning, connection, and community! 🙌🏽🧡💙

MALO was proud to be part of the 2026 Elevate Youth California (EYC) Southern California Regional Training and Technical Assistance at the Skirball Cultural Center in Los Angeles! 💪🏽✨

We walked away with so much valuable knowledge, practical tools, new ideas, and useful information to strengthen the work we do with youth right here in the Inland Empire. From youth empowerment and community healing to substance use prevention, this training reinforced the importance of creating safe, supportive spaces where young people feel seen, heard, valued, and equipped to thrive.

For our Polynesian youth and families in Ontario and throughout the IE, this work is especially important. 💛 Our youth deserve culturally responsive support, trusted mentors, access to resources, and opportunities to build confidence, resilience, leadership, and healthy futures while staying connected to their identities, families, and communities. By investing in prevention, education, and meaningful youth engagement, we help strengthen not only individual young people but generations to come. 🌱🤝🏽

A HUGE mālō ‘aupito and thank you to Elevate Youth California Elevate Youth California, California Department of Health Care Services the California Department of Health Care Services (DHCS), Sierra Health + Wellness The Center at Sierra Health Foundation, the trainers, presenters, organizers, community partners, and everyone who shared their knowledge, experience, and passion. Thank you for creating space for collaboration, learning, and the exchange of ideas that we can bring home and put into action for our Inland Empire communities! 🫶🏽

We’re leaving inspired, better equipped, and even more committed to uplifting our youth, supporting our families, and building healthier, stronger communities together. Our youth are our KAHA’U (Future), and investing in them is investing in all of us! 🌺💙

🌺✨🎨October is National Arts & Humanities Month a time to celebrate the creativity, cultural traditions, stories, and shared experiences that shape who we are! 🌊✨

For our Polynesian communities and families throughout the Inland Empire, arts and humanities are more than creativity. They help us preserve our languages, honor our ancestors, pass down knowledge, express our identities, and keep our connections across generations strong. ❤️🌺

From ngatu and weaving to music, dance, storytelling, visual arts, and the knowledge held within our communities, these traditions deserve to be celebrated, shared, and protected. Our young people deserve opportunities to learn from the past, express themselves today, and help shape our future. 🌱🎶

Why must we continue? Because when we invest in arts and culture, we invest in our people, our youth, our identity, and the strength of our communities. 🙌🏽

Let’s keep creating, learning, sharing our stories, and making space for every generation to shine! 💛🌴
